If you are in the fallout modding world many of you by now should of heard of a world of pain for fallout new vegas, created by the legend that is dj mystro. His work is absolutely amazing and I for once was indulged in a mod that was actually worth downloading. From the depths of reiman cave all the way to the simple gas station is what I thought the game needed. For those of you who dont know a world of pain, it basically is a mod that add hundreds of new locations to fallout new vegas, making it a more fulfilling place to be. Surely there must of been times when you were scouring the mojave wastes and found it boring. With this mod? Not any more!
A World Of Pain 4d Storage Locations
All locations in A World Of Pain for new vegas was exciting, but having such a big mod like this would leave me thinking 'why should I fallout 3 when there is a great mod like this for new vegas'? Well not now, not when DJ Mystro is still alive! Just a month or so ago, I was searching for some mods on the fallout nexus when I saw what I hoped would come.. A World Of Pain for Fallout 3. It was a wonderful sight. I imiedieatly downloaded it and played it. What came next was a total OMG.. (Spoilers)
Me and my stray companion, Lt Williams (the ex-enclave officer) were running away from a deathclaw near the sewer waystation when a struck of luck came before us. On the horizon was a hotel, cooper's hotel, and the door.. the door was not barricaded. Catching the glint in my eye, Lt Williams kicked down the door and we both ran in, slammed the doors together and shifted a couch to block the door. Navigatebyurl angular 6 is broking free. With sweat dripping from my face, I slumped on the couch and pulled out my rusty flask of water. There was a deep cut in my hand and I tended it softly by ripping of some leather from my clothes and wrapped it around it. Lt Williams joined me on the couch, reloading his plasma pistol with the remaining cells left. ' that bastard, that bastard made me use up most of my cells. It wont be long before I melt his body down. I swaer to god I will kill it. I will!' exclaimed Williams'Shut the fuck up asshole, we are lucky to survive and you should thank god for that' I proclaimed.'GOD? Thank god for what? Nuking our god damn planet? Huh? Oh yeah thank you God for blowing the fuck out of our planet, I apreciate it' he replied'Fuck you. Dont forget there was a huge war dumbass.' I said, and with that I stood up and finally looked at the enviroment for the first time.'Shit.. this place.. shit.. I can smell 'em. I hate that smell. Yo Williams? Get your shit.. raiders are in the building'
Thats right folks! Coopers hotel is a brand new location added to the capital wasteland with the mod a world of pain and as my little story pointed out, it is full with raiders who decided to check in for a while. Hope you download this mod because it is awesome and best of all lore friendly. Good luck out there fellow wastelanders. You'll need it! Three dog and away!

Now there doesn't seem to be any comprehensive guide to changes (in the download file or online) and the sheer quantity of content has my head spinning.
Anyone know where I get find a detailed addition log?
Also, a few more specific questions. I could only find a few of a Cornelius' notes, but I really really want to find out the lore behind it! Any tips?
New Vegas World Of Pain Quests
Also, what is this underground they speak of? Sounds like a high level dungeon. I'm level 23 and i've continued down Zed's Minimart into an area full of 'tech raiders' with crazy gear. Is this late game stuff?

I played New Vegas a few years ago, but school / life took over and I never finished it. I finally want to get back into it, but I know the game can have some performance issues and whatnot. So what are the best mods I can install to make the experience better?
Mind you, I'm not looking for things that drastically change how the game plays. I just want things that fix issues or maybe minor QoL improvements. Things to make it more in the vein of Morrowind (less waypoint market / POI compass reliance) would be nice.

A World of Pain is a mod for Fallout: New Vegas. The mod's main feature is adding lots of dungeons and also a series of quests that connect to a massive series of caverns centering on a subterranean city called 'The Underground', built by the Mojave elite before the war to basically be a giant, personal Vault for them. Since then people have come and gone from it as they see fit, finding relative peace and shelter there, though the first one comes and goes as various monsters infest the caverns.

The mod otherwise adds various new enemy types, new weapons (mostly enhanced versions of existing weapons), and many new areas not connected to The Underground.
Provides examples of:

- 20 Bear Asses: The Underground merchant agrees to sell you some Concentr8 if you collect specific types of Pre-War Books for him.
- Badass Crew: X13, a faction of the NCR military involved in a Super Serum program. You can rescue up to three of their numbers and together storm a cavern chock full of Deathclaws, which they are fully capable of fighting competently.
- Blackout Basement: Several areas of the mod are in almost total darkness, requiring some sort of night vision to be able to navigate.
- Bonus Dungeon: This mod add lots of them.
- Brutal Bonus Level: The Emergency Services Railyard, which is infested with Deathclaws, including numerous Deathclaw Alpha Males, the Legendary Deathclaw Alpha Male, and the boss of the area 'Big Momma'. The area is also a Blackout Basement level where without some form of night vision, you can't see five feet in front of your character.
- Difficulty Spike: The mod's areas presume you're at least at a mid-game level of power, though the ones near Goodsprings and Primm are a bit more gentle.
- Disc-One Nuke: Frankie sells a copy of the Medicine skill book, and a copy of the Sneak skill book can be found in the basement of Jean's Sky Diving. It means +3/+4 to two skills before even having reached Primm.
- Drugs Are Good: The Concentr8 pills give you Skill buffs for a short time, depending on the color of pill.
- Elaborate Underground Base: While The Underground itself is reasonably small, the various side-caverns that connect to it spread all across the Mojave. You can find yourself entering a cave near Primm and surface hours later in North Vegas.
- Elite Mook: Tech Raiders, Raiders who have scavengered more advanced equipment including the occasional suit of Power Armor.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Jean's Sky Diving now has a basement section populated by a faction of Powder Gangers that were banished from the main gang at the prison for being cannibals.
- Giant Mook:
- An early quest from Frankie has you hunting three larger-than-normal Geckos, and then a Giant Radscorpion, to earn a key to the Underground.
- New Legendary variants of monsters exist in the new locations and tend to be much larger.
- A Homeowner Is You: Several new options for player housing are added, including one to Goodsprings that can be bought for 5,000 caps from Frankie, a new merchant just down the road.
- Mauve Shirt: Several new NPCs have names and backstories, but don't have much relevance to anything, they're just here for flavor.
- Noob Cave: Sunnytime Cigarettes HQ.
- Portal Network: The Redouts, a series of teleports that connect to each other. Some lead you into just collapsed ruins, others lead to significant locations like the Hidden Valley Bunker or Vault 21. However, accessing the main areas from the ones the Redoubts send you to require a high level of Lockpick to Sequence Break, or perhaps feature a Plot Lock.
- Scenery Porn: The new world areas tend to be heavily designed with lots of clutter.
- Underground City: The focal point of the mod is The Underground, a city built deep beneath New Vegas.
- Unusable Enemy Equipment: Notable for many of the new enemy types not dropping their equipment on death. Prepare to feel cheated as you gun down that Metal Armor-clad Raider with the Laser RCW, and then loot his corpse to find nothing but a few 10mm rounds.
